How Harwell Became
Harwell
That there had to be a better way to do this. That work could be more personal, more honest, more… us. No suits, no fluff—just two mates figuring things out, and building something real in the middle of it.
Harwell. was never about playing the game. It was about changing it.
This is how we got here...
How
Became
Where It All Began
Two teenagers. One chance meeting. A story that stuck.
Our story starts back in 2010.
Sitting side-by-side at a football trial for Hereford United. Out of a hundred boys, five change rooms, and random seat assignments, we were placed next to each other.
We didn’t know it at the time, but that moment would shape everything that came after.
We were just two kids with boots and belief. But that day marked the beginning of a story that’s still unfolding.
Paths That Kept Crossing
From Cheltenham Town to the other side of the world.
At sixteen, we moved out of home and played full-time football together. We were chasing the dream, learning how to work, live, and grow under pressure.
A few years later, Adam moved to Australia. Harvey stayed back to finish his degree, but made a quiet promise: "I'll be there."
Eventually, he showed up, just as he said he would. No fanfare, no drama. Just two mates, back in the same place, ready to build something that mattered.
Why Harwell Was Born
A whiteboard, a kitchen table, and a different kind of standard.
We worked in a large recruitment agency together. Huge brand, great training, and a solid foundation to build on.
But as we became more immersed in the industry, it became clear: Recruitment wasn’t built around people. It was built around numbers. Targets. Metrics. Revenue before relationships.
We knew there had to be a better way.
So we started from scratch, whiteboard on the wall. Mapped out what Harwell. could become. Then it began, sitting at Adam’s kitchen table, armed with a phone, a laptop, and a quiet commitment. The only way this thing fails is if a meteor hits the earth.
Harwell. wasn’t polished. But it was real. And it was ours.
Where We Are Now
From two mates in a lounge room to a brand people believe in.
Today, Harwell. looks a little different. We’ve moved from the kitchen table to our second office. We’ve grown from two voices to a full team of high performers. We’ve built business units in Construction, Finance, E-Commerce and Trades & Labour, each with their own momentum.
We’ve been nominated for Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Startup Business of the Year, and Professional Services of the Year.

We’ve even hired a full-time Marketing Coordinator. But at its core, it’s still two mates building something we believe in and backing others to do the same.
What Comes Next
The foundation is built. Now we build on it the right way.
We never set out to build the biggest agency. We set out to build the most trusted one.
The vision for Harwell. isn’t just more offices or headcount. It’s deeper relationships. Better systems. Stronger people. A brand that goes beyond traditional recruitment.
What's Ahead?
Expanding our reach across new markets and industries. Hosting industry events to connect and engage with our community. Investing in content, tools and education that move the industry forward.
What started with two mates and a whiteboard is now a vision we're proud to bring to life, one relationship at a time.
